WILMINGTON RECOGNIZED BY NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TRAVELER FOR PRESERVATION EFFORTS

In the Nov.-Dec. issue of National Geographic Traveler, the magazine reports the results of the National Geographic Society's Center for Sustainable Destinations destination-stewardship survey. The 280 travel experts scored places they knew on how well those spots have withstood the pressures of mass tourism and time. The panelists used six criteria weighted according to importance: environmental and ecological quality; social and cultural integrity; condition of historic buildings and archaeological sites; aesthetic appeal; quality of tourism management; and outlook for the future. Asheville and Wilmington were recognized. Noted one panelist regarding Asheville: "They have done a great job of downtown revitalization, trail development, and historic preservation." A panelist noted Wilmington has "Several well-preserved residential blocks adjacent to downtown.”

When the clock strikes twelve on December 31st, people all over the world cheer and wish each other a very Happy New Year. For some, this event is no more than a change of a calendar. For others, the New Year symbolizes the beginning of a better tomorrow.

As we turn the page from 2008 to 2009, I'd like to update you on Stonewater Building's outstanding performance and progress over the past year and on the outlook for the Company in 2009.

Since Stonewater’s inception, we have built our business on one very basic philosophy: “To deliver our customers the highest quality end product, unparalleled value, and a house they will be proud to call a home.” That simple driving force behind our business has continued to help us grow, and that philosophy will never change. We will never forget that without satisfied customers we are nothing. Although such a basic principle, it is amazing at how often this simple belief is forgotten by others in our field. This year has been wonderful to Stonewater Building and all its employees. We have been blessed to work on so many beautiful homes and work with such a great group of people and families. At Stonewater Building we are excited for 2009 and feel we still have many great things to accomplish and we will continue to build homes with hard work, superior craftsmanship and pride, always doing what is right and respectful of others as we continue to build our good reputation in the area. Thanks to all of you who are members of the Stonewater Family and helped to make 2008 a wonderful year! Please take time today and reflect on our many blessings and enjoy time with your family, friends and loved ones!

Wishing everyone much success and happiness in 2009!
